STANDARD INCLINOMETER CASINGS
Inclinometer casing comprises a special grooved tube which is generally installed in a borehole to allow access for an inclinometer to measure subsurface soil movements. The inclinometer casing performs the following functions:
- It reflects deformations of soil or rock into which it is installed, or in structures to which it is attached.
- It provides a precise casing for the operation of the inclinometer probe in the determination of changes in inclination
- Internal grooves ensure that the inclinometer probe remains orientated in the same direction at each reading interval.
SISGEO provides inclinometer casing in the following materials:
- Aluminium
- Fibreglass
- Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS)

FLUSH-COUPLED AND QUICK JOINT INCLINOMETER CASINGS
Flush-coupled inclinometer casing is a special ABS grooved tube, machined at the ends to provide a self-aligning junction. It is produced from high-quality virgin ABS plastic.
During manufacture particular attention is paid to reduce the spiral of the casing grooves and to machine the aligning key for casing junction with self-aligning couplings. Casing sections are assembled by means of couplings which are glued, riveted and sealed with special tape.
SISGEO Quick Joint (QJ) tube is an alternative to the traditional inclinometer casings, mainly designed for earth-fill dams and deep borehole applications. QJ tube offers simple and fast installation, consistent joints and deeper tube grooves. O-rings prevent ingress of grout or water. The fitted-at-factory casings and the alignment keys assure perfect continuity of the grooves.

INCLINO-SETTLEMENT COLUMNS
Inclinometer and settlement measurements can be combined in the same column. This column consists of ABS inclinometer casing equipped with telescopic couplings and magnet rings. Magnet target rings are available in different models: for borehole (spider rings) and for embankment (plate rings). They are fixed on the inclinometer casing at particular intervals, depending on the geology. Telescopic couplings are available with a stroke of 75 or 150 mm. They provide a constant tracking of the grooves and the possibility to accept axial tube displacement. Readings are carried out by vertical inclinometer probe and magnet detector probe for a 3-D vertical survey.

INCLINOMETER PROBES
The inclinometer probe measures tilt deviations within the vertical inclinometer casings. This allows for the monitoring of lateral movements. Inclinometer probe model S242SV30 is equipped with a ±30° range biaxial, force-balanced servo accelerometer which provides a high precision level, durability and quick response time. Sisgeo inclinometer probes can be used in conjunction with all commercially available inclinometer casings with ID grooves from 38 mm to 84 mm. A durable anti-shock plastic ABS carrying case is provided for transportation and storage of the inclinometer probe, as well as the dummy probe. The equipment is read using an Archimede portable datalogger.

INCLINOMETER OPERATING CABLE
Abrasion and chemical-resistant, the inclinometer operating cable is used to control the depth of the inclinometer probe. The stainless steel shield, which is moulded to the external polyethylene (PE) jacket, eliminates any cable twisting, and a stainless steel core wire prevents stretching of the cable itself. An internal binder eliminates slipping of the single conductor relative to the external PE jacket. Additionally, copper rings are crimped on the external PE cable jacket for tactile operations. The operating cable includes the submersible probe mating connector that allows a monitoring distance of up to 200m water depth.

TILLI PORTABLE TILTMETER
TILLI is a portable tiltmeter. It consists of a durable stainless steel frame with aluminium housing containing a force-balanced servo-accelerometer sensor. The surfaces of the frame are machined to allow an accurate positioning of the tiltmeter during measurements. In use, the TILLI is placed on the tilt plate which is permanently installed on the surface of the structure. Measurements can be taken on horizontal or vertical surfaces. The bottom surface of the tiltmeter is used with horizontally-mounted tilt plates, while the side surface is used with vertically mounted tilt plates. Again, measurements can be taken on horizontal or vertical surfaces. Readings in two orthogonal directions can be obtained rotating the instrument 90° on the horizontal surface. Conjugated measurements (180 degrees rotation) eliminate instrumental and mounting offset.

IN-PLACE INCLINOMETERS (IPI)
In-Place Inclinometer (IPI) sensors are designed for automatic monitoring of critical locations. Jointed together and suspended inside the casing where deformation may occur, a string of IPI sensors allows the operator to monitor the profile of the inclinometer casing on a continuous basis. Vertical and horizontal in-place inclinometers are available in uniaxial and biaxial versions, equipped with solid-state accelerometer or force-balanced servoaccelerometer sensors. Separate signal cables are required for each sensor. However, several in-place inclinometers can be linked together in order to create a single multi-core cable output.
