Poor compaction control can sink your project. Good compaction control is a game changer. Soft zones in a fill can lead to settlement at best or catastrophic failure at worst, especially when you are building an expensive structure thereon and you need it to remain upright, serviceable and in good order for the duration of its life span. Poor compaction can also lead to embankment failure which will not only damage your project but may also have dire consequences for your neighbour.
What does all that Mod AASHTO dry density jargon mean? 93 percent or 95 percent? And to what soil type does it apply anyway? We forgot to take samples of the material in the borrow pit so we don’t have any idea of the compaction characteristics of the soil. And so it goes. Why not leave it to us to source borrow materials on site or off, sample, test, analyse and provide recommendations on compaction densities?
We will manage the flow of material across your site, ensuring that compaction is achieved for specific soil types. Depending on the size of the project we will use dynamic probing or Troxler nuclear density gauges to carry out the quality assurance testing. And at the end of it, everyone walks off site satisfied that a job has been well done.
